The new season is well and truly under way across all ages in the club. Each week we'll try highlight some teams from both the junior and senior sections. Below are details and results from some of the teams in action this weekend.

Ladies 2nds:

Naas 2s got off to a flying start at Belfield against UCD 4ths with a goal from Mila Garavagliadrion inside the first 5 minutes of the match. A strong defensive press kept the pressure on UCD and a break in play saw Joy Duggan go on a magnificent solo run straight through the UCD defense to claim Naas second goal.  Player of the match Sophie Morrisey kept her second clean sheet with formidable form to stop all attack from UCD in the 3rd quarter.  A strong fourth quarter Naas kept the pressure in UCD which resulted in a reverse stick shot from Jane Blake to seal the fate of UCD. Final score 3-0 to Naas great team effort and we look forward to the next performance.

Mens 1sts:

Men's 1sts played Glenanne away for their opening game of the season. The game started slow, with both teams getting decent chances. After half time, Glenanne took the lead to which Naas responded well. Naas continued on top for the quarter but conceded just before the end of Q3. Naas came out on top in Q4 but couldn't capitalise on their chances, Glenanne finished with another goal to end the match. 3-0 a flattering score for the host, with a lot of promise from Naas.

Mens 2nds:

Mens 2nds played Glenannes away from home. The game started quickly with Glenannes scoring from an early short corner. After this point, Naas were on top. Before the end of the half, Naas equalised through Eoin McNamara with a back post tap. Coming out after half time Naas continued to dominate, but a mistake on a hit out lead to a quick break and goal for Glenannes. With Naas still on top, they scored from a short corner routine which  saw debutant Gideon Van Pletzen scoring to the far post. 2-2 was a final score in a heavily one sided affair.

Ladies 1sts lost 3-1 to Avoca 1sts (away).

Ladies 3rds won 2-10 against Our Ladys 3rds (away).

U12 Boys lost to YMCA (pictured) 5-1 in a very competitive game despite the scoreline.

U16 Boys beat Portrane 1-0 in a great result for the lads in the League today.

Well done to all teams playing this weekend.
