Ladies 1s lost 4-2 against a strong Glennane side. The girls started very well but a quick dip in concentration led to a succession of Glennane short corners which they concerted very well. Goals for Naas came from a beuatiful penalty stroke converted by Lucy followed by a brilliantly converted short corner by Amy. The girls will look to build on this performance and hopefully snatch 3 points when they play their next away game on Saturday versus Clontarf.
Ladies 2s ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against Clontarf in the cup. The win was built on a hugely effective performance by the forwards, playing extremely skilful and committed hockey and not being afraid to go toe to toe with Clontarf when things got feisty in the latter stages of the game. There were goals from from Jill Blanchfield, Abigail Bolger, Carley Killian and Orla Farrell. The girls will play Glennane in the next round of the cup on the 27th and will play a strong UCD team this Saturday in the league.
Ladies 3s began their cup campaign very strongly. They played North Kildare and were convincing 2-0 winners. They dominated possession and pressed high creating numerous chances.The North Kildare keeper played extremely well but eventually Jane Noonan got the better of her. Jane later scored her second from a penalty corner strike. The girls will contest the next round of the cup against Kilkenny on the 27th of November. They will continue their league campaign on Saturday against North Kildare where a win will secure them a top of the table spot.
Mens 1s ran out 4-0 losers against a very strong Rathgar side. Despite the scoreline the lads played extremely well and kept high pressure on Rathgar. The Naas goalkeeper was kept busy and had a brilliant performance. The lads will look to improve on this performance as they take on Mullingar at home this weekend.
